The Knowledge Centre Psychology and Economic Behaviour is independent, scientific, and societally engaged.
Our Knowledge Centre was founded on January 1st, 2020 and is affiliated with the Social, Economic, and Organisational Psychology unit at Leiden University. The Knowledge Centre was made possible by a donation from Utopa Foundation.
Our goal is to improve individual and societal wellbeing by developing, applying and sharing scientific knowledge about economic behaviour. We define economic behaviour broadly. From behaviour with direct economic consequences, such as financial decisions, to behaviour whose consequences are less direct, for instance in the domains of sustainability and health.
Psychology has a lot to teach us about how people make decisions. We use this knowledge to change behaviour.
We are located in the centre of Leiden, in the historic and beautiful building of the former orphanage on the Hooglandse Kerkgracht. Here you can meet our researchers and follow our lectures, workshops, and courses.
