The Dutch have started to save much more in recent years, but at the same time leave 116.4 billion euros in their checking accounts, new figures from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) show. With 8.4 million households having an average of almost 14,000 euros in a checking account. Why do people have such a high amount in their checking account?
